The Stoneridge Neighborhood Association held its ninth annual Holiday Decorating Contest in 2025, and the winning houses were on Oak Hill Way, Carradale Drive and Sebastian Way. The top three earn a certificate, a yard sign and a restaurant gift card. If you’d like your house in that conversation, or just want it lit without spending a Saturday on a tile roof, Stoneridge Christmas light installation is what we do.
Tile, stucco and slope
This part of northeast Roseville was built in the late 1990s and 2000s, nearly all detached houses in Mediterranean and contemporary California styles with stucco walls and tile roofs. Three things follow from that.
- Tile. It breaks when you step on the wrong spot. We clip to the front edge of the tile or to the gutter and do the work from the ladder. On a house with no gutter along a run, a tile-edge clip holds the line.
- Stucco. No fasteners go into it. Not for roofline lights, not for garland, not for a wreath.
- Grade. The land here rolls. Where a lot drops away from the street, one side of the house stands taller than the other. Ladder footing on a sloped side yard takes levelers and patience. It also means the tall side is visible from farther off, so it’s worth lighting.
Do you have an HOA? Depends on the street
There’s no single master association. Gated sections such as Phoenician have their own, and other tracts have none at all. The Stoneridge Neighborhood Association that runs the contest is a volunteer city group, not an HOA, and it doesn’t set display rules. If you pay dues, your association’s current rules decide the dates, and we set the hanging date and the January removal by those. If you’re behind a gate, let us know how entry works when you call (916) 776-8436. If you pay no dues, the calendar is yours.
Quotes without an appointment
No appointment needed. We price it on a call or off emailed or texted pictures. Shoot the front from across the street, then any side you want lit, then the outlet. The number is (916) 776-8436 if you have questions while you’re at it. More about the roof work is on our Christmas light installation page, and tree work has its own page.
What Stoneridge Christmas light installation includes
Six services, mixed however your house needs:
- Roofline lights along eaves, gables and the garage, clipped to tile or gutter.
- Tree wraps on grown landscape trees, trunk first and then the limbs a ladder reaches.
- Pillar wraps where a Mediterranean front has entry columns.
- Stake lighting on walks and driveway edges, set clear of sprinkler heads.
- Lit wreaths, hung from hooks or straps instead of anything driven into the stucco.
- Lit garland at the entry or on a railing.
We bring all of it. Nothing to buy and nothing to store after.
Power on a tall house
Second-story rooflines need a clean path down to an outlet. We drop the cord at a downspout or an inside corner where stucco meets stucco, so it’s hidden in daylight. A timer runs the schedule. If you back to open space or a trail, a set shutoff time keeps the lights from running all night toward the oaks. When part of the display quits in December, (916) 776-8436 gets a crew back to fix it.
Side yards and the houses that back to open space
One 2025 contest winner was called out for its side yard and unique lights. That makes sense here. With oak-studded open space threaded through the plan, some homes show a side or back face to a trail or a park. Houses near Harry Crabb Park, along the False Ravine Trail or beside the Miners Ravine and Secret Ravine open space can be seen from more than the street. Tell us which sides face out and we’ll quote those as well.
We work the whole Sierra College Blvd and Roseville Parkway side of town, down to Olympus Drive, plus the rest of Roseville and Highland Reserve. A message through the contact page gets you on the list. Come January, the crew returns and strips the house clean.
Stoneridge quick answers
Can you install lights on a Stoneridge tile roof without breaking tiles?
Yes. We clip to the tile’s front edge or the gutter and work from the ladder, so nobody is walking the field of the roof.
Does the Stoneridge Neighborhood Association set rules for holiday lights?
No. It’s a volunteer neighborhood group that runs the annual decorating contest. Rules come only from an HOA if your tract or gated section has one, so check that association’s current documents.
My lot slopes hard on one side. Is that a problem?
It changes the ladder setup, not the answer. Send a photo of the sloped side so we can plan footing before install day.
Can a Stoneridge Christmas light installation be ready for the decorating contest?
Yes. Say you’re entering when you call. The neighborhood association posts past winners in its galleries, and we can’t promise a place among them. We’ll make the street side and any side that faces a trail look finished.
