That single outdoor outlet on a mid-century North Highlands ranch trips every time it rains. It’s fixable, and it’s the first thing we deal with. Our North Highlands Christmas light installation covers the lights, the ladder work, the timer and the January takedown. Call (916) 776-8436 for a quote by phone.
Older Homes Mean Power Comes First
A lot of homes here went up between the 1940s and the 1970s. Solid houses, low rooflines, and wiring that was never planned for a front yard full of lights. So power gets sorted before anything goes up.
- We find every exterior outlet and check whether it’s a GFCI.
- We keep the load reasonable for the circuit. LED strands help a lot here.
- Plug connections get raised and covered so a wet evening doesn’t knock the house dark at 7 p.m. on a Friday.
- Cord follows the foundation and the fence, never the middle of the lawn or the driveway.
- A timer at the outlet turns everything on at dusk and off at a set hour.
North Highlands Christmas Light Installation on Mid-Century Roofs
Low single-story roofs are quick work. Most are composition shingle, and a tab clip slides under the edge without a nail or staple. Where there’s a gutter, the clip hooks the front lip so the line sits straight. We run C9s along the eaves and up any gables. On a low ranch roof that line looks full without looking crowded.
Some older roofs have brittle shingles or a sagging gutter. If we see that, we’ll tell you, clip around the weak spot and keep weight off it.
Rosario, Aero Haven and the Highlands
We come in from the Antelope side and work south. Rosario, around Karl Rosario Park, is usually the first stop. Plenty of ranch homes there have a front porch, and porch posts are made for pillar wraps with a run of lit garland on the railing.
Aero Haven and the Highlands area have lots of compact streets and short frontages. The roofline plus a wreath on the door usually covers it, and a small yard tree with a snug trunk wrap adds depth without much cord.
Up in Larchmont Village, around Larchmont Park on Thomas Drive, the lots are regular and the rooflines are plain, which makes it the neighborhood where a clean, straight roofline looks its best. The streets around Memorial Park, off Blackfield Drive, have some of the bigger yard trees in town. One wrapped trunk there can carry the whole front, and the roofline becomes the frame.
Businesses Near Watt and Madison
Watt Avenue is the main commercial strip, and the stretch near Watt and Madison sees heavy traffic in December. Storefronts, offices and restaurants all benefit from a lit roofline and entry. We install outside business hours when it helps, set timers to your hours and handle the takedown in January, so nothing is hanging over your sign in February. If you run a business on the strip, read through our commercial Christmas light service before you call.
Everything Else We Hang
- Tree wraps: trunks and main branches, spirals snug and even, never cinched into the bark.
- Stake lighting: walks and driveways, set just off the edge and clear of sprinkler heads.
- Lit wreaths on doors, garages and windows.
- Lit garland on railings and archways, held with soft ties.
If a strand quits mid-season, call (916) 776-8436 and a tech will swap the bad one.
Why LED Makes Sense Here
On an older house with one shared circuit, LED C9s are the easy call. They pull a fraction of what old incandescent strands did, so you can light the whole roofline, wrap a tree and add stakes without the breaker complaining when someone runs the microwave. They also run cool, which matters on older, drier shingles, and they hold up better in the damp. We add up the load before a single clip goes on. Questions about your panel? Call (916) 776-8436 and ask. We’d rather talk it through up front than find out at dusk.
We’re in Antelope, Foothill Farms and Carmichael all season, and we cover Fair Oaks too. Send your address and a photo of your outlet through our contact page to get on the schedule.
